The Buzztones Rhythm Revue debuted on New Year’s Eve 2013 and since that time has performed in diverse venues ranging from clubs in Massachusetts and New Hampshire to festivals, including the DamFest Blues Festival in Damariscotta, ME. The group is comprised of seasoned musicians with an instinctive feel for what sounds right as well as what gets and keeps the dance floor filled and jumpin'. In the past the band members have been found onstage with diverse groupings such as the Rick Russell Band, the Bobby Watson Band, West End Blues Band, the Groove Doctors, and Fatwall Jack. Frontmen Jeff "The Buzzard" Rutledge on larynx and gyrations and "Too Bad” Jim Atkinson on guitar, backing and lead vocals are backstopped by the skin tight rhythm section comprised of Larry Takki on drums and Steve Leveille on bass guitar. When you sprinkle in the soulful saxophone sounds and backup vocals of Dave Stringham and beautiful brass of John Salzillo's trumpet, then stir and simmer....soon enough and sure enough, you're cookin' up a delectable stew that would whet any musical appetite. Their set list is comprised of "familiar obscurities" and tasty R&B nuggets. These guys bring you on the dance floor with great music and a humorous, bawdy delivery and they'll keep you there. So, lace up those dancin' shoes and get your moneymaker in order for shakin’ …some !!
tunes you may know but still will find delectable AND danceable...
And dancing is what they're all about...
